Apple cider is delicious and screams Fall but it’s loaded with sugar, simply because it takes a significant number of apples to make a mug full. The hot apple-carrot cider recipe contains less apples, no added sugar and lots more nutrition by tossing in the beautiful root veggie. Who can resist that gorgeous color? Warm this up on the stove and stir in a cinnamon stick and you have Fall at your fingertips!
- 5 small/medium organic carrots
- 2 Honey Crisp apples (or your favorite)
- 1 Golden Delicious Apple
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- Ground cinnamon
- Peel and chop the ends of the carrots. Halve the apples if they are on the larger size. Run the carrots, then the apples through the juicer. Warm on the stove over low/medium heat for five minutes or so with two of the cinnamon sticks. Remove the frothy top and pour in a mug. Add a dash of ground cinnamon and stir in a new cinnamon stick! Makes 16 ounces.
